Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer XPeng has registered 33 vehicles in Germany, five months after entering one of Europe’s largest automotive markets.”
Sales in Germany began in May, with XPeng partnering with 12 local dealers and establishing a presence across 24 retail locations.
Later this year, the Guangzhou-based automaker is set to expand further in Europe, with planned launches in France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The brand debuted in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last July, showcasing its cheapest SUV, the G6.
Upon entering the German market, XPeng set a goal of capturing a 3 percent share of the new energy vehicle segment by next year.
In Germany, the G9 SUV is available in three configurations: rear-wheel drive standard range, rear-wheel drive long range, and all-wheel drive long range. Prices start at €57,600 ($63,500) for the base model, rising to €69,600 ($76,800) for the top-tier version.
XPeng also offers its P7 sedan in Germany in three variants: rear-wheel drive long range, all-wheel drive performance, and the high-end Wing Edition. Prices start at €49,600 and go up to €69,600 for the premium Wing Edition.
XPeng launched both models in Europe in February 2023, initially targeting Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
In China, the company delivered 21,352 vehicles in September, a new monthly record, marking a 39% year-on-year increase.
Last week, XPeng continued its European expansion by launching the P7 sedan and both the G6 and G9 SUVs in Portugal and Spain.
After delivering more than 20,000 units for three consecutive months in late 2023, the company kicked off the year with lower than expected sales.
However, since February, the Guangzhou headquartered manufacturer has been consecutively increasing its sales figures with the latest ones representing a new all record.
Of the 21,352 vehicles delivered last month, XPeng stated that its latest and most affordable model, the Mona M03, accounted for over 10,000 units — approximately 50 percent.
The company will unveil its new flagship sedan, the P7+, later this week on October 10. Deliveries in China are expected to begin later this year, though the timeline for its debut in other markets remains unknown.
