The California based electric vehicle (EV) maker Lucid Motors is gearing up to open two new showrooms in Germany as sales in the country disappoint. Lucid’s registrations in the German market dropped to eight units in July, down from fifteen in June.
After opening its first showroom in the country two years ago in Munich, the company will open new stores in Hamburg and Frankfurt this October and September, respectively.
In a recent social media post, the EV maker led by Peter Rawlinson announced that the city of Stuttgart—home to the German premium brands Mercedes-Benz and Porsche—will also host a showroom.
With the upcoming openings, Lucid will have a total of eight stores across Switzerland, Germany, Norway, and the Netherlands.

Lucid reiterated last Monday its annual production guidance of 9,000 vehicles as it prepares to start producing its second model, the Gravity SUV, later this year.
With 1,728 vehicles produced in the first quarter and 2,110 vehicles in the second quarter, the California based EV maker expects to produce 5,162 vehicles in the second half of the year.
