A Tesla Model Y, wrapped and disguised, was seen in Pasadena, north of Los Angeles, this Sunday, as enthusiasts and shareholders wait for further updates on the refreshed version.
Codenamed “Juniper,” the revamped version of the world’s best selling vehicle in 2023 is expected to be launched in early 2025.
A Reddit user shared their encounter on the platform, stating, “Running around Rose Bowl today and saw a masked Model Y parking nearby. Looks like the front is just the same shape as Highland. Last time someone saw a masked Highland was about 6-7 months before it released. Juniper soon?”

Last month, Elon Musk wrote on X that the revamped version will not be launched this year without unveiling when can customers can expect it.
“No Model Y “refresh” is coming out this year. I should note that Tesla continuously improves its cars, so even a car that is 6 months newer will be a little better,” Elon Musk wrote on X.
Tesla is expected to give the revised Model Y a similar exterior makeover to the refreshed Model 3. This overhaul will likely feature a completely new face incorporating slimmer headlights. Following the updates to the Model 3, the new Model Y is set to adopt a cleaner, more aerodynamic design.
Last week, Tesla Model Y has joined the Chinese Government’s procurement list for electric vehicles, as unveiled in the newly published “Framework Agreement Procurement of EVs for Jiangsu Province Government for 2024-2025”.
This marks the first time that Tesla has been included in a government procurement catalog in China.
Tesla’s chief executive Elon Musk is among the keynote speakers at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai that is being held this week.
At this year’s four-day event, themed “Governing AI for Good and for All,” Tesla will showcase its Cybertruck and the latest generation of its humanoid robot, Optimus Gen 2.
