Smartphone giant Xiaomi reported on Wednesday the delivery of 7,058 vehicles in April, its first production month that followed the reveal of the electric model SU7 in late March.
Answering to a question on social media platform X, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said the company is “currently focused on the domestic market” while claiming that “long-term vision” is to have cars on the road worldwide.

“Excited to announce that we’ve delivered 7,058 units of Xiaomi SU7 as of April 30th. Total lock-in orders have reached 88,063. We’re working hard to ramp up production and accelerate deliveries to meet our goal of delivering 100,000 units this year!,” Lei Jun wrote on X.
The chief executive has recently noted that the sales volume exceeded expectations by “three to five times,” presenting both a boost and a challenge. Xiaomi CEO says the great demand is also a “headache” despite enhancing that the “partners are relatively strong” and that “the [production] ramp up has been very fast”.
During the launch event of the SU7, Jun expressed Xiaomi’s vision for a seamlessly connected ecosystem, where human interaction with cars and homes creates a unified smart living experience.
