Tesla is targeting “at least 2 million” Cybercab units produced annually, according to the company’s CEO Elon Musk. “Maybe 4 million ultimately,” he added during the third quarter earnings call held late Wednesday.
In the weeks following Tesla’s “We, Robot” event on October 10, Wall Street analysts have raised concerns about the limited details shared regarding the company’s Robotaxi and Robovan roadmap, particularly its scalability timeline.
During the earnings conference call, Musk said he feels “confident” about reaching achieving volume production in 2026 adding that the model will be produced in more than one Giga-factory.
“That will be in more than one factory, but I think it’s at least 2 million units a year, maybe 4 million ultimately. So, yes, these are just my best guesses but if you ask me my best guesses, those are my best guesses,” he added.

“And then Cybercab reaching volume production in ’26. I do feel confident of Cybercab reaching volume production in ’26, just starting production, reaching volume production in ’26. And that should be substantial, but we’re aiming for at least 2 million units a year of Cybercab,” Musk added.
The model will be fully autonomous, relying solely on Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, with no steering wheel, accelerator, or brake pedal.
Commenting on the design, Musk said he’s “very excited about the Cybercab design” and “how we’re rethinking the design of a car from the Cybercab”.
Regarding the Cybertruck, and despite not revealing the sales figures for the model, Tesla said that the model has seen “sequentially increased production” and “achieved a positive gross margin for the first time.”
Despite not unveiling a specific number, the company led by Elon Musk said it expects a “slight growth” in vehicle deliveries this year. In 2023, Tesla delivered 1.81 million vehicles, up 38% from the year before.
