Electric vehicle maker Nio, through its subsidiary Nio Automobile Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd., has applied to register three trademarks for “Nio World Model” in both Chinese and English, including graphical logos.
The filings follow Nio’s introduction of the Nio World Model (NWM) during its latest Innovation and Technology Day held in July.
The trademarks, classified under scientific instruments, are currently under review, according to China’s corporate information database Tianyancha.
NWM is a multivariable autoregressive generative driving model designed for autonomous and assisted driving, capable of evaluating 216 potential driving scenarios within 0.1 seconds.
According to the EV maker, the NWM processes real-time sensor data, reconstructs possible future scenarios, and selects the safest driving path.
The model is designed to predict long-term scenarios and make decisions based on its simulations. Nio says the technology can generate predictive driving videos up to 120 seconds from just three seconds of input, providing a comprehensive assessment of future driving conditions.
The NWM is part of Nio’s broader NADArch 2.0 architecture, which incorporates group intelligence and generative simulation data to enhance autonomous driving performance.
According to an image aired by China’s CCTV last weekend, Nio exported 1,083 vehicles in the first nine months of 2024, representing just 0.67% of its total production.
The company unveiled its first sub-brand Onvo last May and started deliveries of the debut model on September 28. In December, Nio will unveil Firefly, its second sub-brand.
