Electric vehicle maker Lucid Motors sold 660 vehicles during August in the United States, according to Motor Intelligence. The company had recorded 608 Air vehicles in June and 697 in July.
The Irvine-based EV maker Rivian sold 5,133 units, while Polestar registered 704 electric vehicles, and Tesla recorded 53,160. The Vietnamese automaker VinFast sold 315 units.
In July, the company introduced a new leasing incentive of $7,500 Air Credit for customers in the United States. The offer was introduced in addition to the existing $4,000 bonus available for inventory vehicles.
In mid-August, Lucid started selling demo vehicles with hundreds or a dozen of thousands of miles driven with prices starting at $56,998 — about $13,000 below the starting price of the cheaper variant of the Air sedan.

Lucid, which is preparing to start deliveries of the second model of Gravity late this year, has recently reaffirmed the annual production guidance of 9,000 vehicles.
With 1,728 vehicles produced in the first quarter and 2,110 vehicles in the second one, the California-based EV maker expects to produce 5,162 vehicles in the second half of the year.
In Germany, one of its European markets, the company registered 13 units last month, four more than in July and five more than the same month last year.
