Electric vehicle (EV) maker Nio announced on Thursday the European release of the 2.3.5 version of Banyan, its in-house developed operating system. The new version brings 50 improvements, according to a social media post.
On LinkedIn, the company highlighted the one pedal driving which becomes now available across all the five models available in the European markets with the exception of the recently launched Nio EL8, known as Nio ES8 in China.
With the feature, which can be also seen on the Tesla models, gradually lifting the foot off the accelerator decelerates the car using regenerative braking.

In mid-June, the brand launched its flagship SUV in its European markets, including Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.
Besides the single pedal driving, Nio announced that its in-car voice assistant Nomi is now upgraded able to have “more natural and human-like interactions”.
Earlier this year, Nomi, a highly popular feature among consumers in China, received a major upgrade.
With enhanced AI capabilities, Nomi can now assist occupants with a wide range of information beyond in-car functions, such as closing windows or starting the massage function.
Another feature that arrives now the European markets is the karaoke function. Already available in China, Nio’s lifestyle brand Nio Life sells branded microphones that allow occupants to use the feature via the central screen.
Although its official plans to enter new markets are still unknown, Nio has been teasing the expansion to new countries — and even continents — over the last few months.
In the long term, the group is aiming to sell its EVs in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and in the Balkan countries besides UAE region later this year and Latin America.
