XPeng, the China-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has officially unveiled the MONA M03, the first production model in its new MONA series.
Contrary to initial plans for MONA to serve as a more affordable sub-brand, the EV maker opted to launch it as a series within the brand with the four words standing for “Made of New AI”.

The model comes with two electric motor options, delivering maximum power outputs of 140 kW and 160 kW with the range reaching 515 km or 620 kilometers thanks to the impressive drag coefficient of 0.194 — the lowest in its category.
Although the company promises to reveal the full pricing details in August, XPeng guaranteed that the model will start under 200,000 yuan, equivalent to $27,400.
The interior of the M03 model will also be unveiled only next month.

Earlier this week, the company announced the delivery of 10,668 electric vehicles in June, representing a 24 percent increase year-over-year. Despite not providing the breakdown of monthly sales per model, the company said its three-row MPV X9 has accounted for 1,687 units.
In the first half of the year, XPeng delivered 52,028 vehicles, an increase of 26 percent from last year. The EV maker said that, during the third quarter of the year, it will release “a major upgrade” to its AI-powered in-car operating system AI Tianji OS.
The company has recently announced its expansion into the Egyptian market with the launch of two electric models from its portfolio including the flagship SUV Xpeng G9, and the sedan Xpeng P7.
Both models will be available for delivery to the Egyptian market starting from the end of this month, marking Xpeng’s first foray into the African continent.
