Onvo, Nio’s first sub-brand unveiled in May, will start Saturday rolling out its largest software update. The 1.1.0 update of the ‘Coconut’ operating system introduces more than 20 new features and over 20 feature enhancements, according to the company.
New features include a new parking mode, improved experience for the upcoming freezer, in-car broadcasting, and the option to schedule charging for smart home chargers.
“One particularly useful feature is the ‘Free Parking Mode’ with automatic parking assistance. I use the automatic parking feature every day for parking in and out, but recently, I also tested this Free Parking Mode — it feels as simple as drawing with your finger on the large screen,” Onvo’s president Alan Ai said in a review video done with one of the brand’s product manager.
“You can freely sketch a box, drag it wherever you like, and once the box is in place, the car can park exactly there. It’s truly intuitive and effortless. This feature is incredibly convenient,” the executive added.
The update is set to begin rolling out to approximately 20,000 customers on Saturday, December 28, with all customers expected to receive the update by year-end based on delivery sequence.
The latest software update enables the 52-liter large-capacity freezer to support temperature and mode adjustments directly via the vehicle’s central control screen.
The freezer is expected to be launched next month. Customers who received vehicle deliveries this year or locked in orders before the year end are eligible for a 1,000 yuan ($137) discount voucher, bringing the promotional price to 1,880 yuan.

Onvo announced earlier this Friday that cumulative deliveries of its debut model, the L60, have reached 20,000 units in under 100 days since deliveries began. Based on the company’s official delivery figures for September, October, and November, Onvo had delivered 10,233 units as of the last day of November.
This suggests that 9,767 units were delivered between December 1 and December 27. The brand is on track to exceed 10,000 deliveries in a single month for the first time, the highly anticipated target
