Polestar, the electric vehicle brand backed by China’s Geely Group, announced on Wednesday a series of limited-time incentives for its Polestar 4 SUV in China, as consumers accelerate purchases ahead of the year-end expiry of the country’s EV subsidies.

The company is offering discounts of up to 85,000 yuan ($11,640) and additional upgrade subsidies of up to 50,000 yuan ($6,890). Buyers can also choose between a five-year, zero-interest financing plan or a zero-down payment option for the coupe SUV.

In the third quarter of the year, Polestar deliveries fell to 11,900 vehicles (down from 13,150 units) taking year to date figures to 32,300 units.

As part of the promotion, buyers will receive a half-price voucher for the brand’s recently launched smartphone, the Polestar Phone, which retails at 7,388 yuan ($1,020).

The Polestar 4 SUV, featuring a digital rearview mirror and offered in single-motor and dual-motor configurations, is priced between 339,900 yuan ($46,800) and 399,900 yuan ($55,070) in China.

In the United States, the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version starts at $54,900 with an EPA-estimated range of up to 300 miles, while the long-range dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant is priced from $62,900.

The company was spotted testing this week its upcoming Polestar 5 sedan in northern Europe earlier on Wednesday. The flagship model is scheduled to be launched in 2025.
