Tesla’s Cybertruck electric pickup truck has completed its energy consumption calculation filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), according to public data shared on Chinese social media this Wednesday.
The filing reveals the Cybertruck has an energy consumption rate of 22.6 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers and a range of 618 kilometers, equivalent to 384 miles.
The Cybertruck is classified under MIIT’s “M” type category, designating it as a passenger car rather than a truck. This classification exempts it from China’s mandatory 15-year retirement requirement and usage restrictions.

Earlier today, a Cybertruck was spotted arriving at one of BYD’s factories in China, where staff were seen inspecting the vehicle, according to a video shared on Chinese social media platforms on Wednesday.
Tesla showcased the Cybertruck earlier this year at multiple locations in China, signaling its growing interest in the country’s market for electric vehicles.
Earlier today, Goldman Sachs analyst Mark Delaney raised the firm’s price target to $345.00 from $250.00. Based on Tuesday’s closing price of $400.99, the new price target implies a downside of about 14%.
Earlier this week, Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas had also increased the firm’s price target on the stock to $400 from $310 while naming Tesla as the firm’s top pick.
Registration data released on Tuesday showed that Tesla registered 21,900 vehicles in China between December 2 and 8, marking its third-highest weekly figure in the past three years. Elon Musk commented on the result on X praising the Tesla China team.
