The vote for the expansion of Tesla‘s Gigactory in Germany by 100 hectares has been delayed, the mayor of the Grünheide region Arne Christiani told the local media RBB.
Christiani said that the development plan is not on the agenda in the upcoming meeting not confirming if will be discussed before the year end. The news portal added that a necessary initiation of a development plan procedure will also not be dealt with in the September meeting of the municipal council.
In May 2022, the U.S. automaker submitted an application to initiate a B-Plan procedure in the immediate vicinity of the current 300-hectare B Plan to create a goods station, logistics areas and parking spaces on the new site.
Last Sunday, the company held an open-door event in the German factory where it mentioned that the goal is to produce 5,000 vehicles per week by the first quarter of 2023 adding that the production ramp was going “very well.”
